Katy Perry Announces Sixth Album, ‘143,’ Reveals Release Date And Cover Art

Katy Perry just announced the title, album art, and release date for her upcoming sixth studio album, 143, which is due out on September 20. Perry made the announcement on Instagram, where she also shared the album art and the color vinyl available for pre-order. Apparently, “143” is a number code for “I love you,” which was frequently used in the early 1990s in messages that were sent on pagers. “I set out to create a bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic 143 numerical expression of love as a throughline message,” said Perry in a statement. The album’s lead single “Woman’s World,” will be officially released on Thursday (July 11) at 7 p.m. ET., accompanied by a Rosie the Riveter-themed music video that will also arrive the same day. Perry has upset longtime fans with her creative reunion with Dr. Luke, who handles production on the new song. (Variety)
