Tyler, The Creator Blasts “Weirdo” Fans Who “Don’t Know Personal Boundaries Anymore”

During a recent appearance on Mavericks with Maverick Carter, Tyler, The Creator unleashed on fans who invade the privacy of artists and insist on knowing intimate personal details about the musicians they love. “The internet’s crazy, these kids hack everything,” Tyler said. “They wanna know who your sister is, what you ate for dinner…mind your f**kin’ business. Go the f**k outside and listen to the damn art or the music. Because of the internet, people don’t know personal boundaries anymore, and it’s normalized…[but] it’s like ‘we don’t know each other.’ Because you like a song, or because you like a movie, that gives you permission to be a f**kin’ weirdo?”

Tyler also lamented how much the music world has changed since he first started out. “2011’s social landscape is so different from now,” he explains. “It wasn’t iPhones everywhere…walking around and living and meeting people was much different up until 2016 when our phone became a thing.” (Rolling Stone
