50 Cent Visits Capitol Hill To Advocate For Black Entrepreneurs

50 Cent used his powerful voice in a different way on Wednesday. The rapper and business mogul visited Capitol Hill in order to speak out about getting more representation for black business owners and entrepreneurs in the luxury liquor industry. 50 was joined by civil rights attorney Ben Crump, with the two men speaking to lawmakers about ways to bridge the wealth gap and create more opportunities for Black-owned spirits companies. “This is really exciting for me. I got a chance to meet with both sides today, and it feels really good,” 50 Cent said of the experience. “They don’t agree on a lot of stuff, and so to get them to agree on seeing me was an accomplishment in itself. I went to talk to them about economic opportunities for everybody, and it’s really exciting. The response I got makes me feel that there’s bright days ahead of us.” (People)
