Ice Spice is set to make her acting debut in Spike Lee’s High & Low alongside Denzel Washington. The crime thriller marks the fifth collaboration between Lee and Washington, and has already begun production. It will be briefly released in theaters before a global launch on AppleTV+. The film is based on the novel King’s Ransom by Ed McBain, depicting a businessman’s downfall after paying a ransom to kidnappers. Ice Spice is also planning on releasing her debut album Y2K this year, but she has talked about wanting to pursue acting before. “I love movies. I always wanted to be a part of that, whether it was [starring in] or helping direct it,” she told Teen Vogue in June 2023.
