4:30 PMTHE HOPE CENTER WILL HOLD 5TH ANNUAL END OF SUMMER COOK-OUT!"
615 Kansas City Street, Rapid City

The HOPE Center will hold its “5th Annual End-of-Summer Cook-Out” on Monday, September 10th, at The HOPE Center located at 615 Kansas City Street. The event will begin at 4:30 PM and will end when the food runs out. For $5 a person, you can get an Indian taco and a beverage, plus you’ll have an opportunity to purchase a meal for a neighbor who is living in poverty. Tours of the HOPE Center will be offered. There will be fun, family-friendly games and activities for the kids. All proceeds from the cookout will benefit the HOPE Center, a public nonprofit in downtown Rapid City.

The HOPE Center is a drop-in day center that provides a warm, safe environment to individuals living in poverty and without homes. The center offers basic day services to our guests, including a mailing center for individuals who do not have a permanent or stable address (currently 2,523 individuals use this service). We also provide a telephone/message center for those without access to a phone, a storage center for personal belongings and important documents, a free laundry, various life-skills classes, and advocacy services and referrals to partner agencies that reduce the impact of the crisis of poverty. Our primary objective is to establish relationships with our guests so that we become a trusted source of support for them. It is through these relationships that we present lifestyle alternatives and a way out of poverty.
