7:00 PMJami Lynn Performance featuring Historic Banjo
SDPB Black Hills Studio, 415 Main Street, Rapid City

JAMI LYNN - FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 7pm, SDPB BLACK HILLS STUDIO, 415 MAIN STREET, RAPID CITY. FREE.

Jami Lynn, Americana banjoist/songwriter performs live on the 1980 Gibson RB-250 banjo given to Johnny Cash by Earl Scruggs, penciled with “To my friend, Johnny” on the head. The banjo has never been played or exhibited since it came to the National Music Museum in 2004. “Scruggs’ signature is fading,” says Sheets. “It won’t hold up in light. If we want to keep his signature, we can’t put the banjo out long-term. Jami Lynn’s performance truly is a special opportunity to see and hear that instrument.”
