CHAOS Kids Curiosity Club: Inquisitive Kids Unite!

If their favorite questions are “Why?” and “How?” bring your inquisitive kids to our Curiosity Club, where they will discover answers through exploration, invention and creation! Tuesday afternoons beginning October 1 from 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at RCPL Downtown (610 Quincy Street, upstairs in CHAOS Kids Makerspace), Librarian Carrie will be ready with a new theme each week. October’s activities include Build Your Own Pinball Game! (10/1), Keva Creations (10/8), Flashlights! (10/15), Color Wheels (10/22) and Salt Water Etching (10/29).

Job Skills Series | October Sessions

Join us every Thursday in October from 12 – 1 p.m. at the downtown library (610 Quincy Street, upstairs) for training and discussions during our Job Skills Series. We’ve partnered with community business leaders and employment professionals who will teach a variety of topics to improve your skills and provide career direction.

October 3, learn networking techniques that will assist in landing the right job or advance your career with Brandis Knudsen, Chamber of Commerce.

October 10, learn how to create a budget, sign up for a checking account and other financial literacy tips with Heidi Bulman, Community Development Officer with Black Hills Federal Credit Union.

October 17, learn about the importance of attitude, attendance and accountability in your current job or the employment you are working to attain with Samantha McGrath, Department of Labor.

October 24, learn about the opportunities available for high school graduates, including internships and apprenticeships throughout the state with Samantha McGrath, Department of Labor.

October 31, learn of the benefits to having an Associate Degree in today’s current job market and Western Dakota Tech offerings with Brittney Lystad, Recruiter for Western Dakota Tech. Mentorship opportunities with several area small businesses are also available to show interested job seekers what they look for in team members.
