Audience Favorite Film “Science Fair” Showing at the Library

“Supremely entertaining. An ode to the teenage science geeks on whom our future depends.” -Variety

Join us Sunday, May 19 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. at the downtown library (610 Quincy Street, upstairs) and witness the #1 Audience Favorite at Sundance and SXSW! National Geographic Documentary Films’ “Science Fair” follows nine high school students from disparate corners of the globe as they navigate rivalries, setbacks and, of course, hormones, on their journey to compete at the International Science and Engineering Fair.

Kashfia Rahman is the daughter of Bangladeshi immigrants who grew up in Brookings, South Dakota as one of the only Muslim girls in her high school. When she couldn’t find a teacher to serve as her research advisor, she formed an unlikely kinship with her school's head football coach who ended up being the only teacher who will sponsor her science project. Rahman’s dream of attending college on the East Coast was realized as she is currently a student at Harvard University studying Psychology and Cognitive Sciences as well as Global Health Policy.
